The Canadiens are Eastern Conference champions and will take on the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs starting on Thursday.

PuckCasters Dave Stubbs, Mike Boone and Kevin Mio have clipped on the microphones this week to discuss that and much more.

Boone and Stubbs also give their predictions on which teams will win their respective first-round matchups in the East and who they like to win the Western Conference.

Anybody know where I can print of a "by team" list of scorers for the pool?

Hi.. There's NHL.com that is good or if you have an account with CBS sportsline, they are the best. Also the best for pools... Hope this helps..

Thank god, Chris Lee isn't on the list... That guy is worse than Fraser.

I was just thinking the same thing, chris lee is a total idiot. No mick mcgeough is a bonus also, glad to see him retire also. To me the worst of the worst on this list is fraser and tim peel. Hopefully they will be doing western conference games.

CBC indicates Stewart is staying with the big club for the playoffs. I guess his great first game sealed the deal, I hope Grabs gets some ice time as well.

I'm not sure if anyone has already gave this link, but, everyone should check it out. goto tsn.ca/nhl, and click on the "simulated stanley" link on the right hand upper side. finally, tsn gives the habs some credit.

Is this what you mean?

Kind of neat. We defeat Bruins in 7 games, Philly in 6, Pens in 7 and then lose to the Sharks in the Final in 7 Games. :)

Scotty Bowman the genius on HNC right now, should be interesting what he says about our Habs.

in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King! :) Scotty is one of my hockey idols, but just to say, it wouldn't take much to be a genius on HNC. lol.

Hey Podcasters, you're when talking about Stanley Cup experience, you're forgetting that you can add Kovalev to the list, along with Brisebois and Dandenault. Kovy was on the '94 Rangers team.

Strange world. The sens, in a period of no more than 4 months, go from the team that was supposed to challenge the Habs 60-8-12 single season record to ....pansies?
The pens give up the conference crown because Ottawa looks like the weakest link. They have looked like the team that is fragile- if there is such a thing- between the ears.
If anything would drive you to play like you're possessed you would think that would do it. Murray sure is trying to use it as a spring board.

GO HABS.

Bill H's picture

I don't believe the Pens gave up the first place to play the Sens. Crosby's ankle is still not 100%, so they rested him. They had one game left that was pretty much meaningless on the road to the Stanley Cup. The players had an emotional letdown because nothing of importance was really on the line. To say they threw the game so they could play the Sens would be a serious allegation if there was any evidence at all to support it. I wish people would stop making that accusation when there is nothing except wild speculation to support it. Unless of course there is some evidence that I haven't heard of.

I dont think Ottawa can do it...A lot of things have to go right for ottawa and a lot of things have to go wrong for Pittsburgh. I understand there thinking, they wanted no part of a Philly team that can Bully them....but it may come back to bite them in the ass....What if its a MTL vs Pitts Semi, we get home!

I agree. I'd be shocked if the sens upset them. Especially with their leader and best player on the shelf. They also look like a team with weak goaltending at this point.

GO HABS.

I wonder how much of the injury reports is just posturing though. It wouldn't surprise me to see Alfredsson play in the first round.

Chuck's picture

That's the very reason that I'd like to see Ottawa beat the Pens. After that though, they could fall off the end of the Earth for all I care.

My suggestion for the Habs is to keep the pressure and intensity on the Boston's Defense and Thomas will flop his way out of position...

No... not experiencing problems at work or home. Maybe your personal or your work has a "FIREWALL" security feature disallowing the feed? Also you might need to upgrade your media player?

It's at my work and they are making some changes, so that's probably the issue.
