PHILADELPHIA – Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau says he hasn't yet decided on his goalie for tomorrow's Game 4, and adds that it won't be decided until game time.
That said, Carey Price was in the dressing room after today's practice long before Jaroslav Halak, who mopped up Game 3, and was in good spirits in a long chat with the media. Price's earlier arrival suggests he gets the start, and Carbo's Cheshire-cat grin suggested he knew much more than he was letting on.
• Guy Carbonneau • Carey Price
We will win tonight, Price will play.
This is a wakeup call for the team, it's now or never to destroy those Philly bullies once and for all!
Man, I sure could go for a nice big fat juicy Philly Cheesesteaks right now!
"We will win the Cup only with Carey Price in the nets"
this is our whole season tonight.2-2, or down 3-1.its almost like price is drinking tylonol pm before game time, he's not alert and too calm.for the luv of us fans carey wake the &%%$ up buddy!! true, down a few redbulls before the game and when we win the cup you can do redbull commercials this summer.stand up ,dont go down early cause the book on you is to shoot high.as it stands now the decision to trade huet was ok cause weve already gone farther than washington. this is he game of the year!! sink or swim. go habs goooooo!!
Man, coaching has to suck. If he picks a goalie and they win, the goalie's the hero. If they lose, the coach is the bum.
1. www.flickeringpictures.com - not a hockey site, but still kinda neat
2. Josh Gorges on Montreal's attack: "They're comin', they're comin' and they keep comin'. Just line after line, wave after wave..."
With respect to Dave Stubbs article in this mornings gazette, Will it be Price or Halak?
I like your reasoning here Mr Stubbs.
I think because the Habs don't want to be 3-1 behind to the Flyers, I believe Price should be in nets. This is a must game for the Habs and they need to go with the goalie who got them to this point thus far.
But then again, this decision, as hard or easy as it is, isn't for me to decide. This is why Carbo gets paid the big bucks.
Yours Truly,
Rocket Richard

Price said in today's Gazette that he got a piece of every puck that went in last game. My suggestion to him is to drink a few cans of Red Bulls before the game to improve his concentration and readiness.
If Price starts, I hope he'll be sharp and move his head and be mobile so that there wont be any more screening excuses, and talk to the defensemen more for sure. We should win tonight. Habs are 4-0 and Price is 2-0 and has .953 sv % on Wednesdays this year. Aside from goaltending, Carbo needs to do a bold move though at some point to wake up the team so they play with more consistence. I dont think its panicking; 10 games into these playoffs and that full effort hasnt come very often. We've won purely on talent but sooner or later, heart has to enter the equation if we're to advance. We've lost 4 of the last 6 and some players are waiting for other players to step up. Koivu cant be the only one sounding the charge. If it was me, start Price tonight, then go with Halak on Saturday in Montreal even if Price wins tonight(Halak has only lost once on home ice in 8-9 games). But I wouldnt go with Halak tonight if the intention is to come back with Price on Saturday. If Halak goes tonight, then he should be left there until he screws up, as he is not a typical second fiddle goalie eventhough he is treated like one. But we all know that isnt going to happen and he will leave the organization eventually. Go habs go.
It appears to me that Price was mentally tired in the last two games. He was not sharp and not focus. You may find excuses. A sharp goalie should be able to stop some of those goals.
We really need to adjust our attack. Someone needs to go in front of their net either screen or deflect the puck. # of shoots doesn't count. We have to score.
Obviously Price will be the guy. We just have to get some luck on our side since the Flyers have had it all so far (as explained here: http://habsbros.blogspot.com/ )
GO!HABS!GO!PRICE WILL STEAL THE SHOW!
Game 4 looks to get a bit tougher. Highly likely that Knuble will play.

Not sure how effective he will be...wasn't his injury a partially torn groin? Plus wasn't he kinda slow when he was with Boston? The only issue I see is that he will be a presence in front of the net.
everyone, please go on this website: donnels@phillynews.com
and read that garbage spewed out by one of the most ignorant biased piece of crap I have ever read. Please send him an email showing your disgust and displeasure. It;'s unbelievable. I wrote him, giving him an earful!
He's writing that kind of garbage just to get a reaction.
I think the best reaction is to ignore it. Who cares what he thinks? I'm taking the high road; he doesn't deserve my time or my rants.
It doesn't matter that the Flyers are up 2-1 right now ... it's all an anti-American conspiracy, didn't you know?
That being said, I feel honoured and lucky that WE have a great team of dignified, fair, and talented sports journalists at The Gazette (not trying to suck up, just telling it like it is).
I don't think he's writing it to get a reaction -- 99% of the people who read this fool are Philadelphians. I've lived here for a few years now and it's amazing to see philly sports fans -- they really believe this junk. They're dealing with years and years and years of losing teams, and this is what it's come to -- a guy writing about conspiracies. But he's making his living... and he's catering to philly sports fans who have nothing else.
Plus, someone around here has to cover the city's @$$ for when the Flyers lose the series!
Well in that case, my condolences to Philadelphia fans who have been brainwashed to believe this nonsense....
Man...the Habs really are the Yankees of hockey...hate'em or love'em and break out the conspiracy theories...

In there is a link to a Philadelphia paper that expands on the topic...
oh my... is that F-F-S? bitter much? LOLOLOLOL
"The main reason I won't watch NHL hockey is the special treatment afforded Montreal. It seems as though there are 21,000 referees at the Bell Centre and 2 referees on the ice to call the game in their favour. The penalty at the end of the 3rd period in the first game followed a familiar script. And the bone head announcers seem to overlook this obvious fact. Sad!"
man, this really smells like F-F-S.
What the heck? The Philly story linked to by the wire post is ridiculous. "So far in this series with Montreal, we have seen a sucker punch with intent to injure on Timonen go unpunished [...]"
Intent to injure?? Take a couple deep breaths there, Donnellon, it was a quick open-handed smack to the nose.
Notice how the article makes NO reference to TK being tied up by the Flyers' bench and Prospal taking a shot at him from the bench . . . right next to an official.
OK since everyone else is doing it I'll throw in my two cents
LINE 1 - Kovy, Koivu, Higgins
LINE 2 -PLEKS, BROTHERS K
LINE 3 - BEGIN, KOSTOPOULUS, SMOLINKSKI
LINE 4 - LAPIERRE OR GRABOVSKI,

MISSED HIM AGAIN")
RYDER, LATENDRESSE

GOAL- HALAK - one game
Just hear me: This is not to punish Price but to make him mad and hungry. He will easily forget being out for 20 minutes of the last game but a full game will allow him to stew. Plus, Halak knows the only way he will see any more action is to get a shutout. This is a Win-Win and Price is in the pipes on Saturday night back at home.
LET me spell this out before someone calls me a nasty name: I am a Price Fan, this is a postive suggestion that motivates everyone. Ryder (and Grabs) get one shot and whatever they did to tick Carbo off could be forgiven. I am eager to hear any response, but dont bother if its name calling. Could I even get Mr.Stubbs to respond?
_______________________
"GO HABS GO!" "SCORE THE FIRST GOAL!"
forget Grabs...but I can live with a Halak start, you give good reasoning and if it fails then Price can come in for the big game at home...
but it will make Price 'stew' as you said and give Halak the opportunity to shine because his life/career depends on it...
but let me tell you..thats a BIG TIME move by Carb....it won't happen.
what is more disgusting is that RYDER won't see the ice, and this series is custom made for him.
habs need to play desperate hockey. play like they did in the regular season! pedal to the metal for 60 minutes. score the 1st goal, and whichever goalie plays, must be sharp and not allow any soft goals. This game will show us what the habs are made of!
like the regular season pedal to the metal for 60 mins?
WOW, a new hab fan I see.
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
Heading on 3 hrs.
...........
"To you from failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high."
The Drive for 25 is ALIVE!!
Trying to figure out what team he was gazing at for 60 minutes at a time this season too?
Yup, I don't know what team he was watching.
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
quote from Hatcher:" If I knew I was getting a 5 minute penalty, I would have finished the job"! I hope Komisarek injures this guy badly!
It truly is disgusting. That pig - along with many of his team mates - aren't worthy to play with the likes of the Habs.
...........
"To you from failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high."
The Drive for 25 is ALIVE!!
Their smug attitude is what's going to cost them.
Yet the NHL allows this sort of statement. Pathetic. Premediated assult?
"One face-off, one battle, one shift, one period, one game, one series at a time."
"Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?"
I hope he doesn't get suspended, the guy is slow and brutal. He will now also be a target for officials because of his actions and now his statement.
