I didn't notice that ....now I feel dumber than that guy who wanted to fight Gorges while Bouillon was off scoring.

Chris Same e-mail as Krob1000 Not the greatest computer wiz. I already forgot my picks.

Hey Chris ......can you send me my picks....I assumed it would be in my sent folder in my email or something but they are not anywhere I can find anyway. Sorry about the hassle I am not the most computer savvy guy around.

Chris Aung-Thwin's picture
To everyone who asked: Mark Streit can be either a forward or defensemen - your choice. Just make sure that you have 12 F and 6 D. Oh... and he's the only exception. I don't think a guy like Ovechkin has logged enough minutes on the blueline to qualify.

Chris - Thanks for the clarification and thanks for setting up this wonderful thread. I can't wait for the 'older guys' on this site to kick butt with the 'young pups' who think they know everything about the Habs. Some of us are not quite ready to pass the torch just yet:-) The Original 24 Cups

Yes, thanks Chris for clearing that up! Good luck to one and all!

I don't think I'm in.........I'm not good at multitasking.......I need to focus 100% on the Habs during the playoffs not on individual players.....I guess I'm superstitious.

What the heck, I'm in...all this lurking might as well serve a purpose. Thanks to all involved for making this available. Go Habs

Sakus Evil Twin's picture
One day... two pools completed... I was frozen out of Habs players on the last one... Anaheim in the West, SJ close behind... Stewart to score 10 goals on route to a finals win. Perhaps... GO HABS GO!! Aaaargh. I think I might pop!

I'm in the very same boat - man do I ever want it to be Thursday. www.flickeringpictures.com - not a hockey site, but still kinda neat

I'm in! Anyone know a free on line playoff pool where you can win some prizes?

the_larry's picture
facebook does.. a huge plasma tv to the winner and tons of smaller cool prizes to round out the top 10.. free to put in your team.

Any word on how Streit will be considered? Forward, defence, both?

cautiousoptimist's picture
The league site calls him a defenceman, so I guess we ought to call him one too. Though I think the league still can't spell Kostitsyn... www.flickeringpictures.com - not a hockey site, but still kinda neat

doug's picture
same question here - i'm submitting him as a defenseman but please reject and let me know if this is not acceptable

Can all my players be Getzlaf? :) www.flickeringpictures.com - not a hockey site, but still kinda neat

Scotty90's picture
I heard his team will consist of Leaf players (a few of them with playoff experience - 1967 champs) his team will be 'Just for Laffs'. If HIO doesn't let him participate in the pool because he is icing a team that isn't even in the playoffs..... he is expected to be in touch with the league because Leafs had to play their last game of 06-07 and the last game of 07-08 against Montreal.... and that gave Habs an unfair advantage over Toronto to make the playoffs !.....

Thanks MikeL I entered my team Let the games begin. Give her Habs. Anything they do from here on is Bonus.

Where do we make our picks???

Chris Aung-Thwin's picture
Click on the link in the above post. You will have to type a message that includes all of your picks.

Scotty90's picture
Will we have to keep track of our own numbers? how is it going to work? Will we be able to see other HIO members picks and where they place in standings?

Chris Aung-Thwin's picture
We'll take care of the numbers. There will be regular updates on the standings. Unfortunately, you won't be able to see everyone else's picks.

Scotty90's picture
Tks Chris... this will be fun!

i Gotta go Mtl - Detroit in the finals

Where do we enter our Playoff pool team.

MikeL's picture
The bright blue link that says "click here to send a message."

my picks are done Montreal, Pittsburgh, San Jose, detroit are my final 4 teams with the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge advancing to play the sharks in the final. The ducks could have a chance. Go habs Go! 16 pour 25

Habs64's picture
I am in! Habs in the Finals!!

piche's picture
Given that everyone can pick the same players we should have a tie breaker up front. Goals for?

piche's picture
Of course if we have the same players then we have the same goals for... but you get the jist... we need a tie breaker. 2nd tie breaker in the extreme case mentioned above can be first to submit.

Scotty90's picture
We have to make sure all is fair, no team has any unfair advantage because of home & home games , or a team has played 8 games in 3 days..., and had to shovel the ice between periods 'cause the Zamboni didn't work, and so on.... . we need 'for facts sake' to come and monitor activities... make sure all is on the up and up! :)

johnnyhab's picture
Just finished my picks, Good luck to all.

Big Bird's picture
It will be interesting to see who will emerge as the Chris Kontos, John Druce of the playoffs this year. Michael Ryder perhaps?

Don't know if he would count as a Kontos or Druce given his past success but I like the idea of him turning it up as I think he did down the stretch until he got hurt.....he is a big game player from what I have seen and I am expecting big things out of Ryder....this is a chance at instant redemption with less pressure (now that people don't expect him to be our leading scorer is all I mean with that less pressure thing).

24 Cups's picture
kRob - Funny you would mention Ryder. Obviously, no team is winning the Cup without their goaltender standing on his head. That's a given. We also know that our core players such as Kovalev, Koivu, Komi, and Markov will continue to shine. But to have any chance of winning a Cup, we will really need to have Ryder and Higgins step it up a notch. Higgins has picked it up lately but both these guys need to play to and beyond their potential for us to have any chance of taking it all. The Original 24 Cups

Totally agree, Ryder and Higgins are key to the Habs' playoff run. The potential is there! Assuming Koyv's line just carries on playing great.

I couldn't agree more.....I look at him as an ace up our sleeve.

Habhopeful's picture
How will we be able to view who took who and stuff... "If I wanted to hear from an ass, I would fart..."

"the winner(s) will earn the much-sought-after admiration of their Inside/Out peers." The name plek-andrew comes to mind.

Does anyone know of an injury list?

TSN.ca has the best injury report. It is located on the menu to the left. Players win games, teams win championships. - Bill Taylor

Thanks

24 Cups's picture
Chris - We need to make a call on Mark Streit. Seeing that the draft has already been posted, maybe we should (in this case only) allow Streit to be listed as a forward or a defenseman. It will give guys the flexibility to move him to either part of their list. It also allows us to have another Hab on the list. I would see his total points being listed for his name, whether they be accumulated as a forward or a defensemen. It would be a lot easier to keep track of for his point total. The Original 24 CUps

Y's picture
You heard it here first MTL vs DAL in the final After which I'll be eating a bowl of crow

Rob Maguire's picture
No way. Montreal vs San Jose it is.

Call me crazy but I think that at least two of Calgary, Philly and Colorado will upset in the first round. I can see Colorado going all of the way believe it or not (even with Jose in nets). Forsberg has quietly racked up 14 points in 9 games (only 1 goal so you don't hear about it as much) and is a plus 7. He is a huge difference maker....they played with a very depleted roster most of the year and they also made some quality additions at the deadline. They have a roster full of winners with a nice combination of youth and veterans ......their achilles heel .....goaltending. Jose has been better as of late and despite the occasional terrible (and they were bad) outing he has played very well this year.

MikeL's picture
I agree with Colorado. I have them going to the Conference Finals, losing to Anahiem. I do not see San Jose going far at all. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are perennial playoff bums.

Habhopeful's picture
Not Marleau, i think hes always done good in the playoffs, its thornton whos the bum "If I wanted to hear from an ass, I would fart..."

24 Cups's picture
kRob - You're crazy:-) Hey, you asked, I just took you up on your offer! Just thinking out loud here concerning the term 'upset'. Philly and Washington basically had the same number of points and wins this year. Their goal differentials were very close. Same goes for Colorado and Minnesota. Jersey and Rangers fit into the same category. That's the beauty of parity. All these series are toss ups. Regardless of who wins, I don't think anyone could call it an upset. Now Calgary beating San Jose, that might be regarded as an upset. Or Nashville over Detroit or Ottawa over Pittsburgh. Otherwise, there truly can't be any 'upsets' this year. The Original 24 CUps
