I guess when the big hired yankee mercernaries are injured, lazy, too wimpy, you depend on the rookie slaves, mistreat them, crap on them, destroy their confidence, heck that is the Habs way, look at how many talented rookies we have destroyed with the Bulldog YoYo.....

Les-Habitants's picture

The roster freeze is coming on in a few days, I think this move is more about making sure guys like Trotter and White play through the break, then have an extended time doing nothing.

Harditya_CareyPrice's picture

Now that makes sense! I really don't believe that the kids were sent down because Martin doesn't like them. Heck, what's there to not like about that energy line?!

Habscat's picture

Not liking these moves either. I was hoping that Martin was leaving as well. I guess White's fight on Saturday sunk his chances with that pansy Martin. If you are tough, the coach hates them. Unreal.

WTH??? ggrrrr....:(....and to Mr. Gainey's departure :( I guess it had to happen at some time

Oh My Tricolore, That Danny Galavanism brings back a flood of Habs memories.  I can still hear him say those words in my mind.  Thanks for adding that line.

Go Habs Go

24 cups and counting....

I liked the way the Bulldogs played vs. Pitts. Martin did not show them the same confidence vs the Bruins. Trotter and Deharnais will be good players.  No matter where they end up playing.

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

Most teams call up some toughness and size to compensate for injuries to top players. the softest team in the league got even wimpier w/ Pyatt,Desharnais and Maxwell. We're going to get beat up by the Flyers this weekend, and don't be surprised to see an injury to a key player or two. More fodder for the excuse makers

dleb84's picture

Maybe the habs where just showing those young guys to potential buyers as part of a bigger deal.  Or maybe that's why Pyatt is coming up?

corpz's picture

they had to be sent down because they have played too many games and would have to clear waivers if they stayed any longer...

ShangaDoo's picture

Man, i liked White.

Pyatt is an awful NHL player. He brings absolutely nothing.

Not making sense to me. White is playing like Moen should, and brings a lot of what the team is lacking. Guerin might be getting long in the tooth but White handed his A$$ to him the other night, soundly!

Mickeyy's picture

Why is Trotter and White sent down and Desharnais is still here??

Saku you'll always be #1

They want to see more of Desharnais?

I_SAY_FIGHT's picture

WAIVERS

C'mon, Ryan White is the closest thing we have to a Brian Skrudland. Trotter is not ready for the NHL (and I'm doubtful he ever will be), but the kid still deserved another couple games.

oyoyoye

2 games ago, they have formed the best 4th line we've had this season.

I don't like this shuffling.. Wish we kept the guys around for longer.

Im going to miss Bob Gainey is there anyway i can write to him and thank him like an email adress?

A. Berke's picture

If you address it to him c/o the club, I'm sure it'll reach him.

PS: pls add my thanks to him as well.

Sad to see White go. I fear this means another opportunity for D'Agostini.

last one? hope so

One mistake = sent down. Nice message. Funny because we have several who are allowed to do as they please.

Personally I'd rather see Mara/Spacek traded, Bergeron take their spot (same nistrakes/shot, less cap hit) and one of the young-uns take a permanent 4th line spot.

christophor's picture

I don't get what people have against Spacek. He has the second highest +/- with 9, and thats on a minus team. Bergeron has a third worst -11, and he's a PP specialist, so that means his 5 on 5 is terrible. People may have been expecting Spacek's point production numbers from last year or think he's paid 1-1.5 million too high, but just because someone isn't living up to high standards doesn't mean they are terrible. "Not wonderful" doesn't equal "terrible"; maybe good - top 4 good. Not replacible by Bergeron.

Disappointed to see White get sent down. He brings an energy and physical presence that the Habs have too little of. Especially with Washington and Philadelphia's big bodies coming to town. Plus he can kill penalties that can give a break to Plekanecs, Gionta and Gomez to do the scoring.

White showed some energy and Trotter looked good too. Maybe they can only stay up so many games before it impairs our options. Maybe we've got some kind of a deal brewing too, but it sure didn't sound like it at the press conference.

andrewberkshire's picture

Trotter I understand, getting him back into top line action on the Bulldogs, but White? White is probably the best 4th liner we've had all year. Every time he comes up he's pure heart, crashes and bangs like no one else on this team does.

It was that beautiful deflection into his own net Sunday that sunk him.

andrewberkshire's picture

One mistake and you're done, the Martin mantra. And we wonder why our young guys don't perform?

Are you serious? Just because someone posts an idiotic comment, you believe Martin feels the same way? This negative crap is just that. I can't believe you think Martin would send a player down for something like that.

G-Man's picture

It was a joke, boston. This has something to do with waivers and emergency call-ups.

... Spot on.

Chorske's picture

Don't forget his impressive throwdown with Guerin.

I agree, this one's a headscratcher.

BeachHabFan's picture

is this a cap/waiver thing? how many games has white played with habs? trotter got a taste, he needs to be on a top line for now, WASH may not be the best experience for him.

Who's running the enterprise? Please please make real changes...get rid of Martin. He is a total embarrassment.

likehoy's picture

unahppy with these moves...trotter was stellar in his first game.

- Team Halak V.S. Team Price...Montreal Canadiens Fans are similar to 14 year-old Girls going through Puberty.

Why is JM still here? This club is in a mess. Gauthier is hardly a changing of the old guard. More of the same old, same old...

Bryan's picture

Hmmm... why Pyatt over White?

This could be Martin's risk aversion style. White had a few shaky moments in his own end. I think it sucks that White has been sent down. He deserves a shot just from his energy and fearless play alone.

Better at listening to JM to play pacifist against aggressive teams?

Didn't take long for JM to get tired of the kids, I guess Pouliot is ready to go with 2 going down and only 1 coming back.

Pouliot was placed on IR. I don't believe he's eligible to return until Friday's game.
