... that the screaming gladiator on TV is one of my acid flashbacks.
That dipstick didn't REALLY walk up from the Senators' room onto centre ice.
What a pathetic, jive -ass franchise.
Worse than Toronto.
And now that cop is going to sing.
Go Penguins!
A sens fan walked into work the other night and I actually felt bad for the guy. His team is done and then he had to listen to Habs, flyers, bruins and even laff fans make fun of that stupid gladiator followed by the weird singer. I actually kept my mouth shut because I couldn't bring myself to 'pile on' to the guy. Bad time to be a sens fan.
GO HABS.
If my memory of history serves me correct, in Roman times gladiators dressed like the chap at centre ice last night. But senators? Am I not correct in thinking that senators wore olive-branch tiaras on their heads and white dresslike garments (togas)? Wait...I guess I do see the resemblance to these Senators now!
That's the one thing I don't like about RDS telecasts - they don't show the Canadiens pregame show, which is always giving me chills. In this (and only this) department it's 1:0 CBC
it gets even since RDS has no don cherry on the air! :D

Rise Sens Army!!!!
Very shrewd move by the pens in blowing the last game of the season in order to hook up with the sens. Whether it was to avoid philly or play Ottawa it has worked out great. I know the pens are playing extremely well but I gotta think Ottawa is the worst team in the post season at this point. Between their total lack of confidence and injuries (and whatever else is going on), they look like a team that is lost. The injury thing will probably save Murray's a$$. Truth is though, the Paddock firing did nothing to solve the mess.
GO HABS.
you could just imagine the scotia bank place / sens staff around a conference table and thinking it was a great idea. haha, as i write this it comes up on sports centre.
it wouldve been fine outside of the rink, but believing that is going to pump anyone up?
Ottawa has much worse problems than a stupid gladiator. The last 8 minutes of that game were like watching a no-hit pond hockey game. They have no pride, no guts, no heart. When you're down 3-1 and then 4-1, about to go down 3-0 in the series that you accused the other team of throwing a game so they could play, at least show some passion and desire to send a message that you're not going to go down easily. I'm not saying goon it up, send Neal after the goalie, or any of that garbage, but play hockey with at least some intensity. Finish a check, hit a player, let the Penguins know that they have to win 4 games and that it's not over yet. That was a pathetic display by the Senators, and they deserve to be the first team eliminated from this competition, because they've already raised the white flag.

Go Habs Go!
To be honest, I don't care much for the Sens and don't really want them to win just out of Habs pride, but the very least they could do is make a series of this and bang up Crosby and company before they face us!
just to add my 2 cents.. i also saw that and did a couple double takes.. but there really was a freakin gladiator at center ice.. pitiful!
glad to see 'em down 3-0.
Les Habitants,
To be fair, as brutal as the Sens season has been this season, you can't really generalize say they are a poorly run team. Not with how good they have been over the past 10 years.
There have been zero Cups and a bunch of early playoff exits, but they have been one of the best managed teams in the game. They were considered the prototypical model to follow in the hockey world a few years back by develping homegrown talent at a time when big budget teams like Detroit, NYR, Leafs, Philly, etc. were buying players like crazy.
Not trying to boost Ottawa or anything, but a few years ago we all wished we had a roster to match the Sens'. That said, our patience paid off and I can't stand Ottawa!!! I wish they would have won this series though because Pittsburgh is gonne be one tough customer.
Ok, maybe a poorly run PR department...sorry, was kinda dumbfounded by how awful that opening skit was...
Wow, thank you Mike Boone.
Who the hell is running these Sens games?? What the F. was that?!?!? I mean, for crying out loud, I thought that was the worst opening I've ever seen...even the Sens fans in the building were in shock. The plastic sword was the cheesy icing on the cake.
What a joke.
"Sens Army" this giant d-bag kept on screaming...my god, Ottawa has officially lost its right to hold a hockey franchise...or at least, any respect.
On another topic, Nonis fired. Kinda a shocker, but should it be? The team may have been injured like no other, but it was a team built with glaring holes...most obviously, any offensive muscle.
Since I'm on the topic of poorly run Canadian hockey teams, I'm still guessing Nashville's GM Pollie will be the Leafs new Prez and GM...that is, if Detroit can eliminate them.
Go Pens! And just a question, isn't an actual Senator simply a political title, even back in the day? They could make their logo that of a large, overweight balding politician of no relevance.
Oh lord, I had originally missed the beginning with the players lining the hall. I'm not sure if their straight faces are testament to their quality of acting, or to their utter disbelief and embarrassment at being involved in such a farce...
Come to think of it, one of the players should have cross-checked him as he walked by.
Mascots should be seen, and not heard.

Oh my gawd, that was embarassing. Judging by the end result, the technical difficulties may have taken away from the frenzy inducing effect of The Centurion.
When do we get Youppie out there at centre ice for a breakdance session to "You Can't Touch This"???
That would be rad!
It would have been cooler if their mascot was a Transformer.

I am embarrassed to be from Ottawa after seeing that gladiator.'
*Hangs head in shame.*
The great part is that the gladiator's lines are actually written on the inside of his shield. You can see it really clearly when he puts both arms in the air. Helmet doesn't work, audio malfunctions... Talk about patchwork. A perfect fiasco in tribute to a disaster of a team.
I still hate the Leafs more than the Sens but they're second in line. Why are Ontararariossssss so obnoxious? And I live here. Go Habs.
heh.. my brother noticed that too after I showed him the video. We had a great laugh over this one and all the comments on here and youtube.
Drive For 25 Is Alive!
This guy seriously reminds me of the Ultimate Warrior: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laiZgrIpbcA
1. www.flickeringpictures.com - not a hockey site, but still kinda neat
2. Josh Gorges on Montreal's speed: "They're comin', they're comin' and they keep comin'. Just line after line, wave after wave..."
Don't worry guys Wings lost to Nashville today and its 2-1
Harry Neal just pulled a Bob Cole on a disallowed goal and he didn't see the refs call , get rid of these old crows.
The man who will replace Fletcher?

That was the lamest thing I've ever seen. Pathetic, really. Do they really think a WWF approach to the NHL is gonna work? I'd be embarrassed to be a Senators fan right now.
That gladiator was lamer than a two-legged cat.
Ottawa should have thrown a toga party instead.
i love toga parties!
Btw, Lucic is leading the playoffs with 18 hits. Hammer, Komo, and Lapierre are tied for third with 13 hits.
