Murray goes unclaimed

Canadiens forward Garth Murray was not claimed off waivers by the league's 29 other teams and will likely be sent to Hamilton, RDS is reporting.

Also, former Hab Aaron Downey has been placed on waivers by the Red wings.

New, I agree with you. It's got to be tough for them right about now. Both guys seemed to give their all 100% of the time. When we picked up Kostopolus this summer I was worried about the role of Murray. It's too bad they fall through the cracks, so to speak. In other waiver news, though, I wasn't at all surprised or worried to see Aebischer slide down into the Phoenix AHL system. Here is a guy who was given all the opportunities in the world to make a difference and didn't.
